9 months down!

Wilson is now 9 months old! AHH!!!

Since we came back from Texas, he had been sick, but has been getting better everyday and since turning 9 months, has started to become very.. I'm not sure what to call it? Active? Violent?

He will now stand if you pick him up and will grab your hair and lean in and bite your face! And or grab your face. And if you are wearing earrings or glasses? Oh boy.

He is still getting up on his hands and knees but just can't figure out how to start moving. He scoots backwards and can turn himself all around and of course roll every where but no actual crawling yet.

He is getting very adventerous in the bath too. Constantly trying to pull himself out of his little bath tub! AHH!!!

My little baby is quickly turning into a little boy baby, getting into everything!

His 9 month stats are:
Weight: 19 lb 4 oz
Height: 27.75 inches long

So far still on the "small" side of the growth chart but I constantly hear how Wilson must not skip meals because he is so big! LOL

I think it's those chubby cheeks.

So now I am already planning ahead for Wilson's 1st birthday!

I plan on incorporating some Korean Dol Ceremony Traditions like the Doljabi board and doing a memory board. If you are curious at all what a Korean Dol is like here's a wiki link to it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doljanchi

I am debating on whether or not to spend the money or rent a Hanbok for him to wear for a little while and then changing him into something more American.

I've also debated on instead of doing a hanbok doing a cute little suit instead.

I'm definitely going to do a Doljabi Set because I love that tradition.

The only problem is... should I come back to Indiana where all his family would be? Or just do it down in Mississippi, where we wouldn't really know anyone quite yet.

Basically it all boils down to money. Ha-ha.

If it weren't Wilson's FIRST birthday, I'd easily have no problem doing it in Mississippi, but there is just something so special about it being his first. I want to really celebrate it and celebrate it big!

Must be the korean in me! Haha!

Typically the huge Korean birthdays for people are their First and their 60th birthday.

When I was 11 years old, my mother took us to Korea that summer. My halapoji (grandfather) had his 60th birthday. It was a HUGE ceremony and celebration! The whole family got to wear matching Hanboks in my favorite colors: Hot Pink and Pink! Yes, even the men wore it!

They hired a singer to entertain! Tons of food everywhere! Dancing, Drinking, and all around merriment!

Also some very traditional ceremonies happened. One which I actually got to participate in as it was the Grandchildren showing honor to their halapoji.

This has turned into quite a long post! I'll have to blog more about different ideas for Wilson's birthday.

Sick Baby=No sleep

Wow.. these past couple nights have been really rough... far far worse than even when we first brought Wilson home and had no idea what we were doing!

And I guess harder on me since right now I'm still doing the single parenting, with Andy gone.

I feel so bad for my little guy! He does fairly well during the day but once evenings roll around he is just miserable.

The worst is when I realized he had temperature so I decided to take him to the doctors just to make sure it wasn't anything serious, with all these viruses going around you never know.

On my way literally right as I turned into the hospital, I hit a pothole which flattened my tire. UGH.

Sick baby and now flat tire. I seriously could've cried! But I didn't. Maybe I should have! Phew. I was just worried about getting my baby to the doctors so I found a parking spot and ran to the doctors. Okay maybe not ran. Carrying a 19 pound baby is pretty heavy. But I did walk fast.

I just want him to get better so I can get some sleep again! I feel like I don't know what good restful sleep has been since we left for Texas over a week and a half ago.

I hope hope hope he starts feeling better soon though. Poor little baby.

Airman First Class

That's right! I'm married now to an A1C in the United States Air Force.

The Kirk family was reunited this past weekend and it was really great! The weather could've been warmer, apparently we brought the cold with us, instead of leaving it behind in Indiana.

The driving around San Antonio was a bit frustrating as well, but no accidents and we got to where we needed to go!

Wilson did just amazing the whole time considering his whole world was turned upside down.

He hardly got any good naps in at all and struggled a bit with going down at night but really I couldn't have asked for a better baby!

His other front tooth is coming in as well so I think that also affected him a little.

The whole trip was fairly exhausting though! I'm so so glad Andy's parents came along and really helped me take care of Wilson and were able to provide Andy and I some alone time.

Still trying to get that energy back up though. Wilson has been sleeping a lot since coming back home. Yesterday he took a 3 hour nap and then another 2 hour nap, and slept in this morning.

I imagine it was probably the hardest on him because he is not a baby who will just fall asleep anywhere.

I'll have to blog more later when I can find more time, but all in all, we are very proud of Andy's accomplishment and were glad to get to finally see him!

Does any other mommies feel this way?

Before I had Wilson, I never understood unconditional love. I know my parents had it for me, through all my choices, good or bad. But I didn't understand it.

When friends would treat me bad, I would easily write them off. When boyfriends would dump me or vice versa, that was it.

I didn't know what it meant.

But having Wilson, I am slowly learning it.

Even though he is just a small tiny baby, not yet making his own choices with his life. I am beginning to feel it. To see it.

To look at him and know that ANY choice I make, affects him.

Before, I only thought of myself, and how it would affect me. Now with Wilson, I think about what will affect him? I'm not ashamed to say that I even put him and his needs over my own. Not that ashamed is the right word, I don't think I'm saying it quite right. I guess I have no problems putting him first. Where as before I had him, I could never put anything first over myself.

Through him, I am learning mercy and grace. Something I didn't understand before him.

I'm still learning it. But HE teaches it to me everyday.
