Wow. I can't believe today is the last day of 2010. What a crazy amazing year 2010 has been.
I get to celebrate the New Year tomorrow by going and celebrating two wonderful friends getting married! At least I plan on going but I have no idea what to wear. If I should take Wilson. Feeling a little weird if I went just by myself. Missing Andy definitely.
2011 is going to bring some very scary changes for us as a family. Moving to wherever the Air Force takes us and learning on how to live with out the help of our wonderful extended family. I know what it's like growing up in the military but now to live it on the other end where as a child, I had no worries or fears, is going to be a very trying thing for me. I will have to learn to be more independent. Learn to try to get involved and really find a home away from home family and still try to keep in as much contact with the family I already have!
I hope this blog will help with that for them as it has proven a wonderful place for me to be able to look back and marvel at how much has changed in the past 2 years. Growing up, becoming a wife, and a mother and learning how to basically become a parent. It's not easy but it's something I am so happy that I get to do.
Mistakes are going to be made, no one is perfect. I hope I can learn from my mistakes, and really be able to grow as a person. I want to be a better friend, daughter, wife, mother, sister. I hope this year will really be able to show me the way.
I can't wait to see what's in store!

Phew!
Well our Christmas has come and gone and Wilson is still slightly feeling the effects from the busy holiday! My goodness!
He did extremely well considering he took almost practically NO naps on Christmas and is getting his top teeth in. He was able to nap a bit on the way to my dad's which is an hour drive but he typically will take a good 2 hour nap so he was still a bit off.
Made it a bit easier for him to go to sleep both nights though.
Today I put him down and about 1:15 pm and he slept until 4:45 pm when I rudely woke him up. We went over to hang out a little with Andy's cousin Allie and Kristie and her girls and some of the Aunts.
Tomorrow he has to get his second Flu shot and I'm hoping we will maybe take his measurements just so I can see if he's grown much in the past month.
Let's hope his shot won't make him too terribly cranky tomorrow. Normally when he has gotten his shots he sleeps really good but he's only get one instead of the vaccination cocktail he has gotten.
I can't believe I can actually see his top teeth coming in! I love his little bottom teeth grin. Having top teeth will make him look more grown up than I am ready for! AHHHH!!!

Hmm..
So I wanted to update my blog to something a bit more festive and ended up with this boring Winter layout. I think I'm going to have to do some searching and try to find something a bit more fun.
Plus I'm really cold right now so seeing how my layout looks cold, makes me feel colder! BRRRR guess I'll go put on some socks or something.

Could I be your new BFF?
I'm not even sure what that means! But Emily started a list and I want to do one too!
So I guess this list I would post random things about me. Some of the things may not come as a shocker to anyone like: I LOOOOVE HELLO KITTY
But maybe you'd be surprised to know that I once ate a whole bag of flaming hot cheetos in one sitting and my fingers were orange for DAYS!
This was back in my teen years when my metabolism was sooo high and I could just eat anything I wanted. If I ate a whole bag of flaming hot cheetos now I would probably gain 5 pounds just from looking at it.
I now try to only eat HALF the bag of cheetos in one sitting.
I hate driving. Really I do. There have been times where I'll just sit at home because I just DONT want to drive.
I want to visit Japan and have a really nice vacation there. Not just a couple days but really get to see Japan.
I really hope I someday have a girl and am seriously debating on having as many kids as possible to make that happen.
I have a hard time looking people I don't know well in the eyes. I don't know why but it makes me nervous!
I've fallen off the horse and have bitten 2 of my fingernails after quitting for over 2 years.
I'm instantly jealous of anyone with long slender beautiful hands.
I'm instantly jealous whenever someone gets something that I want.
I really want to learn how to use my new camera so I can learn to take really nice pictures.

BRRR!
It has gotten ridiculously cold out now! Last Winter I don't remember it being this cold but I was also pregnant and had my little bun in the oven keeping me extra toasty. I kind of miss feeling nice and comfortable instead of cold all the time!
It's been almost a week since Andy left. SIGH. I really don't know how single parents do it?! It has been lonely on somedays and boring on the other days.
Granted if I really were a single mom I probably would not be at home, I'd be working full time and putting my poor baby in day care all day. Which you gotta do what you gotta do, but for me personally, I want to be around my child and someday children. At least at this age when they are babies and young. I think once the youngest of my maybe 3? children starts school I will go back out into the world and find a low key job or think about if I want to really start a career.
Honestly though, I don't really want a career. I don't want to work 40 hours a week and only see my kids for dinner and bedtime. I don't want to wonder what they are doing all day when I'm not there.
I think I will probably just do something part time where I could work a little and not feel like I haven't done anything but work all day. Now what type of job that is? I'm not sure about.
I'm so lucky to have Andy who wants this for us and our family and is making a sacrifice like this. I know it's hard on me, but I know it's just as hard on him. Especially tearing himself away from his xbox. JEEZ!
1 week down 7 more to go. SIGH.

Our Challenge.
So most of you who are friends and family know that Andy has now left for basic training with the Air Force. He left Monday at 5pm and I last had contact with him last night when he called to tell me his address.
It's been over 2 days since Wilson and I got to actually see and hug our Andy. It's hard but I have a great support system. I know it's not going to be forever and that this in the long run is going to hopefully be a wonderful thing for our family.
I think I'm mostly just sad that Andy is going to be missing 2 months of Wilson's life if not more. We've already seen how fast our baby is growing and I just know he's going to grow so much more!
I'm so lucky to live in an age like now where I can easily document and record everything though. Even though Andy won't get to be here at some point he will be able to look at pictures and see videos of Wilson literally growing before his eyes.
I guess I'm still not quite freaked out because I grew up in an Army home and I got to see what it's like to miss someone for long amounts of time.
A lot of people, myself even included now, have said "Oh I could never be away from my family for so long." or something to that effect and I DO get it. I lived it!
I grew up away from a lot of my extended family and am not very close with them. Which is okay. I cherish the times I got to spend with any of my family and now very much cherish the memories I have of my now deceased Grandparents.
It's going to be a challenge in so many ways for us. As a husband and wife, as parents, as son and daughter, and all other sorts of ways.
I know I'm strong enough to handle all this. But it is a very bittersweet feeling for sure. I have loved getting to have Wilson around his family. In our very near future we won't be able to see our loved ones as much as we like, but if I've learned anything about life it is to treasure the moments you create and share with the ones you love.

December already!?

Wow! I can't believe Christmas is creeping up on us. More importantly I can't believe Andy's ship date is creeping up on us. Yesterday we took Wilson to meet the Santa at the Mall and since we went on a weekday it was very slow which was nice. No waiting in lines or anything!
We wondered how Wilson was going to act meeting Santa. Normally meeting a huge hairy guy in all red can be quite traumatizing for little ones. I was so sure he was going to take one look at Santa and just start freaking out.
But instead he look at him very curiously and immediately wanted to grab his beard. He wasn't shy at all to Santa or to the ladies who were taking the pictures. I'm very amazed that the stranger anxiety hasn't kicked in quite yet.
We imagine it's going to happen soon though, Wilson has started to cry when we leave his eye sight which is kind of cute. But while Wilson naps I'm going to relax myself!

Last day!
Boy it was hard trying to blog every single day! Techincally I didn't even blog everyday because there were a couple days I forgot to.
This means tomorrow is December 1st. In 11 more days Andy will be leaving and I'm now starting to freak out a bit.
I am amazed how single parents can take care of an infant and I see just how hard it is sometimes and that's even when Andy is here. How am I going to handle things when he's gone for almost 3 months?
So much is going to change with Wilson in 3 months. Everyday he is growing and it's so very bittersweet.
They really don't stay babies forever and yet you want them to but you also get excited everytime they learn to do something new and are excited to see the person they are going to become.
Well... at least I'll have pictures/videos/and this blog to remember some of these moments!

Blergh.
This is how I feel about forgetting to post yesterday.
But wait! I only have one more day left of having to blog everyday! Tomorrow will be my last! Yay!!
I must admit it had been pretty hard blogging (almost) everyday. I didn't have much I wanted to really blog about. Or at least put up for the whole wide world to read about! Haha!
In other news. The photo shoot happened yesterday and it was our first experience trying to take pictures of a baby, and it was very difficult! Timing wise it was a little off. We had hoped Wilson would nap in the car on the way but he didn't so of course when we got there he wasn't in the best of moods.
But he did really like Dawn, the photographer. He had no issue with her at all! Just didn't like being propped up or in posing shots haha! I can't wait to see how they turned out and how he will look in them! I know I'm going to love them!

Is our photo session!!!
AHHH!!!! just tonight though Wilson scratched the side of his nose! URGH let's hope nothing else happens.
Another short post. I'm SOOOO sleepy!

going to make this exactly what the title says. while I do have things to blog about I have a somewhat fussy baby who slept all day and now is having a hard time going to bed!
this spells like a long night and we've got a very important day tomorrow so I am going to head to bed and get ready.
lets cross our fingers a certain W-named baby will stay asleep better tonight than he did last night.
stupid vaccinations.

6 month check up
So our little man had his 6 month check up today and everything went well! He is of course growing and right on track.
Head Circumfrence: 17.75 cm
Weight: 16 lbs 14 oz
Height: 26 in
We actually think he might be a little longer because the aide didn't really wait to stretch him out but either way little man is getting big!
He had to get 5 shots today, one oral and 4 actual shots, one of them being the flu shot.
The first prick he barely noticed. The second one he started to cry, the third one he was really mad and the fourth one he was howling and kicking. And then it was all over and he was over it too.
We got home and fed him and he slept for a good 3 and a half hours. He woke up as happy as a clam and is now currently playing with his daddy and toys! What a good baby we have!

Shutterfly Post.
So I got my email today about writing in my blog about the Holiday cards and I'm sooo stoked! I mean What a great thing for me to get and to get to blog about! I've already used Shutterfly to make now 2 photo books of Wilson and of course pictures!
This year is definitely a special year to send a holiday card because it's our first as parents, and Wilson's first holiday! It's also going to be a very bittersweet holiday because Andy will be leaving for the Air Force before Christmas. So he will be in basic training and will be missing our son's first Christmas, New Years, and his first birthday as a Dad.
It's going to be VERY important for us to document this time not only just because we are parents but because for 8 weeks, Andy won't get to see Wilson. I plan on using Shutterfly to print pictures and send as many as I can while he is away at Basic.
I really want to be able to send him one picture per letter so by the end of it he will have a whole stack of them and be able see Wilson literally growing before his eyes!
So with that said here is the standard information that I am blogging about. I know some of my friends and family already use Shutterfly in the past. Let's keep a lookout for those awesome promos and deals they offer and keep making memories!

A half a year ago...
we welcomed our son into the world. First he looked like this little old man:

I remember the Nurse commented that I did an awesome job because his umbilical cord was so thick. I wasn't really sure what she meant and she told me that meant that he was super healthy and it meant that I was very healthy during my pregnancy. I really should look this up if umbilical cord size=super healthy baby. I kind of think that it's really an old wives tale but who knows.
At 3 months he had already change so much!

Looking back he did a whole lot of laying around and just watching everyone and everything. We were still in the feeding, sleeping, dirtying diapers mode.
Now at 6 months..

Starting to learn to be a big boy. Rolling over and attempting to sit up. Personality, he just LOVES people! He loves to watch people talk and talk to him. I thought he would have stranger anxiety but even when random people come up to him and engage him he just smiles and talks back!
Seriously being a mother is just the most wonderful thing in the whole world. I ALWAYS knew I would love my child, but I never imagined just how much even one little smile or coo or giggle just fills me with love, joy, and thankfulness.

It's gonna be. wait for it.
LEGENDARY!
Man Harry Potter was just awesome. It's such a bittersweet moment knowing soon the movies will finally be done and having to some how move on with my life. The twilight series is okay but it's just not like Harry Potter or LoTR for me. Reading those books compared to reading Twilight. Well, there really is no comparison.
Seems to feel the same movie-wise as well. I DO like the twilight stuff, I mean hello! I have a huuuge crush on Cedric Diggory.. oops I mean Edward Cullen. Whatevs.
I just feel like there is just so much more detail in Harry Potter and LoTR. So much more going on in them. Anyways.. it was awesome. I laughed, I cried, I held my pee for 2 and half hours and that is HARD to do. Especially after having a baby lol.
Which speaking of babies, Wilson is just the cutest! Tomorrow he will be hitting his 6 month milestone! I can't believe it!

The hardest thing I ever had to do.
Is to co-ordinate our outfits for our photo session. Seriously. I mean you don't want to be super cheesy and all have the same exact shirt, but you all can't be wearing totally different things.. So here's what I picked, hopefully its not too matchy matchy but it also doesn't look totally ridiculous.
For me:
with jeans and either my flats or boots (depending on my mood)
For Andy:

Also with jeans and I think we are going to have to buy him a pair of nice casual brown shoes. All he owns is tennis shoes and one pair of black dress up shoes.
For Wilson:

He's got a pair of jeans too.
Let's just hope that the sweater isn't HUGE on Wilson and that Andy won't mind wearing his ensemble and that I don't look like a heifer in my outfit!

Sooo excited!
I'm so so so excited!! November 28th is going to be our photo session with The Picket Fence
Seriously check out this lady's blog and look at the pictures!! JUST GORGEOUS!!!
With it being so late in the year I have to figure out what outfit I want to dress Wilson in.
Here's some of my ideas:

This with a pair of jeans maybe?

or this?

I really like this too:

Hrm.
Before Andy leaves for basic and after Wilson turns 6 months, I want to get a family portrait done.
I really really really would love to get awesome pictures taken. But the frugal side is saying "Just go to JcPennys"
Now there is nothing wrong with JcPennys or Sears or Walmart BUT I really really want beautiful pictures. There is something so much more personal than a studio setting can give you.
Something like this would just be soo cute!

This baby just looks soo happy

This one is just breathtaking

I just have to figure out what I want to do!!

Oops!
Looks like I didn't post again yesterday. In my defense I was going to and then I started watching tv. More specifically Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
This Thursday at midnight, the last of the movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 comes out. Andy and I will be going sometime on Friday to go see it! YAY!
I've read all the books and reread them and own all the movies currently. Not going to lie but I love Harry Potter mania far more than this Twilight mania going on. The twilight books were okay but there was just such detail with Harry Potter going on, it made you really wish that there was a secret world where witches and wizards lived.
It also made Witches less scary to me. I mean growing up you think of witches as ugly old horrible evil women who just wanted to either a. do something really terrible to you or b. do something in which you end up dead. So for me this series really changed how I looked at witches and witchcraft.
I cannot wait for friday! And I'll have to do two posts today to make up for yesterday. Dangit.

Milestone Pt. 2
I love it! He now rolls anytime he is placed on his stomach thus defeating our tummy time. I can't wait to see how much more he learns.
Today was a good friend's baby shower and I got to see Shawna and Jack! Our babies were little darlings except for a couple little minutes of fusiness when it was eating time.
I'll probably post pictures tomorrow or another video but it was sooo great getting to see Shawna and her babies! I can't get over how big Kaitlyn is getting and how Jack is just so adorable! I know we aren't blood related but I adore those kids and I hope that our kids will grow up and be good friends.

Milestone
Well it's official I have a baby who can now roll! It's so funny that Wilson has NEVER liked doing tummy time at all and really not a big wiggler or mover all of a sudden figured out how to roll!
We kept putting him on his tummy and he would immediately flip himself back to his back. I kind of think he only learned to do it so he won't have to do his hated tummy time anymore.
He is working on rolling from tummy to back but he can't quite seem to make it. All in all pretty amazing considering for the most part when he did his tummy time he would just bury his head in the floor and not move.
It's amazing how these babies just get so big!!

Gonna try it out.
Well since moving in with the inlaws and in the future knowing that I will be living in a place with my own washer and dryer, I have invested in.... (dramatic music)
CLOTH DIAPERS!
I still have 2 boxes of size 2 pampers to go through so I thought I would buy a couple and test the waters out while I am here.
I am very excited for a couple reasons.
1. Saving money by not having to buy diapers. ALTHOUGH I already had saved money with disposables by stocking up whenever there was a deal and which is why right now I have 2 boxes left to use.
2. Knowing that these are diapers that Wilson will be able to grow into and use even up to his potty training years.
3. Being eco-friendly. (I'm not a huge green person so actually this one doesn't really matter that much to me, but hey its good for the environment so whatever.)
I am nervous for a couple reasons.
1. Not knowing what to expect. Am I going to be dealing with leaks? Poop blowouts? Smell issues? Possible rash issues?
2. Cleaning them. Seems easy enough and yet I read countless posts on different mommy forums of CD'ing moms who have issues with washing their CDs and the absorbency and debating on it all.
3. Having to possibly invest money in all different kinds and finding that none of them are a good fit/match for Wilson. Seems like a lot of CD moms have to try different diapers to figure out which one works and when you are spending 15 bucks a diaper that can get really pricey. Especially when you are going to need a stock of them.
With that said I have bought 3 different diaper covers. Also I am firstly investing in diaper cover and not AIO (all in one diapers) If I feel like Cloth diapering is something I want to invest more in I will probably buy a couple AIO diapers.
I bought 2 Blueberry Diaper Covers

Then I bought one Econobum Trial Pack

And 2 Flip Diapers

The Trial pack comes with 3 inserts and the Flip Diapers come with 3 each as well. I then bought 6 more for the other two Blueberry Diaper Covers.
I bought the blueberry diapers off babysteals.com and the other things off cottonbabies.com
I can't wait to see what it's going to be like. At the very worst I can just resell them to someone else.

Funny
So a funny story. Yesterday was my birthday and randomnly Andy's Aunt Ginny called during the day to see if I was home because she had a present for Wilson and I, not even realizing it was my birthday!
So I got a surprise housewarming/birthday gift. It's just the most darling thing too. It's a serving tray with just the cutest teapot and sugar and creamer and 4 cups and a little mini teapot too!
I should've taken a picture of it, but I wrapped it up and put it in our storage. I can't wait for the day I can use it though. I love drinking tea so it's perfect!
Also Wilson's gift was just the cutest little wooden chair. I love thinking how many many years ago someone else's little boy probably sat on that very same chair.

Birthday
So today is my 27th birthday. What a nice birthday it was! The weather was just gorgeous and for me personally a very special birthday. My first birthday as a mother!
Today on facebook I said in my status how it is very special and how on May 20, 2010. I received the best birthday present, my son.
Other birthdays will come and go but this one will be very special to me for sure. I cannot wait for future birthdays with cards and hugs and kisses from my baby and future babies...

OOPS!
Looks like I totally spaced and forgot to blog yesterday!
In my defense though I did a lot yesterday.
I took care of baby while Andy worked out and then went to the apartment and FINALLY finished cleaning it and then went grocery shopping and then came home and took care of my baby some more and cooked dinner for the family. Also got in a walk with my mom in law as well.
I was soo pooped by 9pm I just layed around and read on my kindle app on my phone. Guess I should've spent that time blogging!
Well today is my birthday so I'll have to do another post later today so I can get back on track!

Colts
Last night was the daylight savings time change and we set our clock back one hour. Today Wilson was a little off because of this. He took a very long afternoon nap and I finally woke him up at 4:15 pm right before the Colts/Eagles game.
He ate and we attempted to give him Pears but he was far more interested in everyone watching the game than eating. Which is VERY unusual for my little chunker.
We watched the game with his Uncle Jake and Cousin Nathan and Great Grandad Klingensmith came over too!
The game tonight was pretty intense and hopefully Collie will be okay. Sadly that's another Colts player injured though and who knows how long Collie will be out!
So with the game going on there was a lot of noise and activity and with Wilson's slight change he didn't get a nap but was definitely tired by 7pm. Which if we hadn't set the clock would be 8pm which is his normal bed time.
We got him to take a little nap but with all the commotion over the game he woke back up. He was very sweet though. Normally if he is over tired he is just a complete monster but he sat there very sweetly and smiled around.
The game is over and unfortunately we lost and Wilson got put back to bed. At least I hope so. As I type I can hear him make some noises from the baby monitor. We will see if he stays down or not.

Another day another moving session.
Wow. Will I ever be done moving? Today my brother, his lady love, Andy, Wilson and I all moved more stuff!
There is just the smallest amount of junk at the apartment left but I am soooo ready to just be DONE!
I seriously just wanted to throw everything else away. How can I have so much junk?!? Just a bunch of needless waste.
I really hope that me donating just bags and bags of junk to goodwill has finally paid off and we won't have as much to move the next time. But since 90% of our belongings is in storage and nicely packed, our big move when the time comes will be very easy and painless.
I cannot wait and also I'm sad! I love my inlaws and hate that I will be taking Wilson away from them but for our family it will be the best situation. Hopefully we will be able to visit often and really that will make our time together just that much more special!

Memories..
facebook is still really annoying me. now I can't get it to work right on my phone! UGH and DOUBLE UGH! Oh well.. so everyday Wilson grows just a little bit more and my little baby is now a big baby! Well big to me anyways... I can't believe 5 and a half months ago I gave birth to him. It's so amazing and just indescribable...
I keep looking back at pictures and videos of him when he was little and wow.. how can it be that he is so different already? I keep thinking about the moment the placed him in my arms, all covered in afterbirth and sooo pale from having the cord wrapped around his neck, his hair sticking up and his eyes all squinty. I can hear him crying and me talking to him and telling him "Hi, I'm your mommy Wilson."
Just wow. I never ever ever want to forget that moment. I know years and years from now I might not be able to recall down to the littlest detail, but thanks to this blog and technology, I can always look back and see and remember how I felt that day, five and a half months ago how my world changed.

Teeth!
So I've previously blogged about how Wilson's two bottom teeth are coming in and in this video I hope you can kind of see them!
He loves to be tickled and makes the funniest noises when we tickle him!
Today was another busy day of trying to juggle baby and trying to pack the rest of our stuff. We have 5 more days left and HOPEFULLY will be done before then! I still have ALOT of cleaning and donating to do. PHEW!

Oh no!
Today was a icky day. Wilson is teething and today was very fussy. Not horribly but he whined a lot and didn't take a very long afternoon nap. So I was dealing with that and Andy and his dad were moving our stuff and while they had a load my bookshelf that I had built, fell in the road and is now trashed.

I previously had blogged about how happy I was to have them. I had bought two and now am down to one. Oh the sadness!
Unfortunately it was pretty wrecked so there was no covering it up of any sort and I couldn't live with it being in the condition it was in.
Soooo.. I guess I can either buy a new one or buy a smaller one.
They still have the bookshelves being sold so I can buy this smaller 3 shelf one.

But I haven't decided if that's something I want to do. I think it would be great for our dvds that we have. We were able to fit our dvds in the first two shelves. I guess if Andy had his old dvd collection we might of had more shelves to have to use but that is not the case. Oh well... I'm starting to realize that DVDs are just a waste of money and space nowadays anyways. I've never been a "I need to have a dvd collection so people can think I'm cool" person. I make sure the dvds I do have are ones that I will watch over and over again.
Hello Pride and Prejudice!

Anyways.. the day is almost done for me and I needed to get my blog on. Hope you enjoyed!

NaBloPoMo 2010
Some of the blogs I happened to read are going to be doing NaBloPoMo 2010 this month and I figured I should try too!
This means I have to post a blog everday for a month! While in the future blogging everyday would probably get old, I want to at least try once!
Wilson had his first Halloween and while he's too young to really get what's going on, I knew he had a good time getting to see all the people and children. He sat in his stroller chomping on his crinkly book and looking around. It was also the first time we sat him in his stroller and not in his infant seat. Wow! My little baby is getting big!
I'll have to add pictures but right now it's been a little busy with moving out and still working on moving, and well with a baby it's doubly hard! My life revolves around my son's schedule and that is MORE than fine!
I love having him on a schedule it has made our lives just so-so-SO much easier! He goes down for his naps easily (I would say a good 98% of the time) and goes to bed easily as well.
Considering he is now a TEETHING baby this is amazing! His bottom two teeth are poking out and when he smiles you can see them! I can't wait to post newer pictures of them. Ahh the joys of being a mom!
Everything he does is amazing, even when he doesn't even realize he's doing it!
So look out November! I got a lot of posts to try to write about!

Etsy!
Man I love etsy! What a great way to help promote people and handmade items! I have bought a couple things off of etsy that I previously blogged about. Well when I was signed in the other day I saw I could make a little widget of things that I liked so I thought I would share.

New Layout!
So through my random blog searching I came across a really fun blog and I loved the layout! Turns out its one of the premade ones that you can download through blogger.
The original Layout background is orange but when I imported the layout style the old background I used to have kind of stayed and changed the orange to the blue and I just gotta say I love it!!
Still keeping the credit for the old one up on here though but I think I may be sticking with this one for a while. I like how simple and clean it looks!
What do you think?

today's babysteal
oh man I am so jealous of todays babysteal!
if you dont know Babysteals is a website where everyday they have a "steal" of a baby item. It could be anything! Some times its babylegs or maternity clothes or toys or outfits. Pretty much about anything! So far I have bought a couple things off of babysteals and I wanted to blog about them.
The first thing I bought off of babysteals was my diaperbag. It's a dante beatrix diaper bag and so far I really like it for when we are going to be gone longer than just a couple hours. I can fit all my diapers and wipes and toys and it has a really nice changing pad with it.

I do have one gripe and that is that unless I take everything out of my purse I have to keep my own separate purse too. I need to find a little pouch or something so that when I have the diaper bag I dont need to lug my purse around too.
Lets see I spent about 64.00 for that diaper bag the regular price being 140.00 so I got it for half the price after shipping.
My next babysteal was an Organic Ergo Carrier. These normally run for 135.00 and I got mine for 80.00 after shipping. This again was almost half the price.

I loved putting Wilson in this in the newborn stage. He loved to be snuggled and if I had things I needed to do I had 2 free hands. I want to buy the newborn insert next time for my next child because I was always worried he was going to slide out but sometimes I would just wrap him in a light cotton or flannel receiving blanket and I got the same effect.
I haven't used it out as much as I thought I would though. I do find it easier to put Wilson in his carseat/stroller and push that around and I have felt sometimes that both Wilson and I would both get hot especially this summer because it was SOOOOO Ridiculously hot this summer. UGH!
My last babysteal that I have bought is the Innobaby Packin Smart Sets. This thing is pretty cool!

I got a 2 pack set for about 20 bucks after shipping and these things are about 36 bucks. I had bought a cheap formula dispenser like this one:

Looks super cute but let me tell you it is a PAIN to get that lid back off. It drives me absolutely crazy!! ARGH!!!
So this innobaby one is a lot easier you just stack however many you need and press the sides to lift or take off whichever one you need fill it up with whatever and stack it back on. Easy and super easy to clean too!
I want to buy one more since I gave one to my sister in law as a gift which brings me back to what I was jealous about!
Looks like they had more innobaby packin smart stacks for sale today and these ones were in colors!
I have just a plain white one but I would've loved to buy one in the blue or yellow.

I'll have to try checking back and seeing if they will put it back up for sale.
That's another nice thing about babysteals is if you are paitent and there was something you saw but decided to not get but really wish you had, there is always a chance they will put it back up for sale again!
Of course Babysteals is bad if you are like me and love to shop. It's sooo hard to not check everyday and not want to buy the steal. Well except for when it's girly stuff but if I ever have a girl.. it will be game over for sure!

NOM NOM NOM
I've been feeding Wilson a small amount of cereal to get him prepared for solids. As a first time mom I had no idea what to do. One of my parenting books said to give him his bottle and halfway stop and give him the cereal and then finish the bottle.
Well that was a HUGE mistake. Wilson immediately got very angry with me for taking his bottle away. Sooo.. I knew next time not to feed him like that again.
Next up trying to give him his cereal before his bottle. Well that didn't go over so well either. I feed him the cereal in the morning and normally when he first wakes up he is ready to eat. So I think he was too impatient to really want to try eating from the spoon.
Finally we've got it down. I feed him AFTER he has eaten his 6-8 ounces. I give him a good burp and let him hang out for a little bit and then feeds him! YAY!
I think he is doing really good considering he and I both have no clue what we are doing. I can already tell Wilson will be eating us straight to the poor house. What an appetite this little boy has!
I can't wait until we start feeding him actual food food. Although when I see what his diapers are going to be like I might be changing my tune.
It's just another little milestone for our growing little guy. Everyday Andy and I are constantly amazed at how he is growing.
28 September 2010
Wilson and his friend.
Wilson loves his turtle!! It's so cute watching him grab it and try to figure out how he can eat it.
I am feeling a little under the weather. I wasn't sure if it was allergies or a cold but yesterday I was in horrible shape. I think it is a combination of allergies, less sleep than I am used to (my normal average was 9-10 hours I now get 7 if I'm lucky 8) and a slight cold.
Luckily I have an awesome husband and wonderful in laws who watched Wilson longer than they normally would've. I feel a lot better today but I may need to watch it. Try to eat a little better and try to get to bed earlier.
Luckily Wilson isn't sick or at least not yet anyways.
22 September 2010
Wilson's First Game.
16 September 2010
4 months checkup.
Yesterday morning we got to take Wilson to his pediatrician. He isn't quite 4 months yet but that's when the appointment was scheduled for.
Overall the visit went great! Wilson is doing great. He's now 14 pounds and 25 inches long. He has slowed down a little on the growth chart but it was a big jump from his 1 month to 2 month appointment, I think from all the eating and growth spurts.
He had to get 3 vaccines, 1 oral which he sucked down and 2 in each leg. Last time he had to get 2 in each leg and really didn't do too bad.
This time was even better. He hardly noticed the first one until it was almost over and when he got stuck in the second leg he cried for less than a minute.
It's always so sad hearing your baby cry but he did so great and was over it super fast.
On a side note. I had changed his diaper right before we left and thought well it's only an hour long visit or less i'm sure I shouldn't need to grab one. My inner mommy voice was telling me maybe I should bring ONE just in case but I ended up ignoring it and off to the drs we went.
Well wouldn't you know but in that whole hour he was peeing like crazy in it! OOPS! Mommy lesson number 1: Always have a diaper on you!
Looks like I failed that one. Thank god he at least didn't go poop in it! Normally I'm not too worried about the pooping. He normally only does that when he eats or right after he eats.
This weekend looks to be a busy one with Andy's brother and sister and our niece coming in for the week! We cant wait to get Wilson and Amelia together and see how they interact with each other.
It will be the first time all of us actually get to see our sweet little niece in person so we are very excited and happy!

I want this.
OMG OMG OMG I want this shirt.. not only for the double rainbow reference but also for the fact that it has 2 of my favorite things. Number 1 being Hello Kitty of course and Number 2 for the fact that it's about cupcakes!?! Not only would I be super cute I would also be super cute and sweet!
Also if you don't get the double cupcake reference check out this video.
This guy is truly ridiculous. I get that a rainbow is cool but seriously.. he literally sounds like he is crying towards the end. Anyways. I need that shirt.

Wilson is just the cutest! We love making him laugh and playing and talking with him. He is getting so big and on the 15th we will find out how big exactly he has gotten!

A great investment!
So I don't know about you, but as a kid it is mandatory to have boardgames in your house. One of the most standard ones is Monopoly. There are tons of different types of monopoly now even a hello kitty one!
But lets be honest. Monopoly is kind of boring. We'd play for an hour and finally get so bored that we would just count the money and see who had the most and say that person was the winner.
My family never played it that often so I've still never really liked it.
Our good friends Aaron and Lychell brought over a new twist on monopoly called Monopoly Deal.
This is a card game and at first I was skeptical. I thought well it's still monopoly so I'm probably not going to like it. Little did I know though!
So I wanted to blog about them in case anyone is a fan of card games!
So there are 3 types of cards in the deck:
Money cards
Property Cards
Action cards
here is what the description says: Collect 3 complete property sets but beware of the Debt Collectors, Forced Deals and Deal Breakers.
Seems easy enough trying to collect 3 properties but of course it's not! It's random what you get dealt and from there you have to worry about other people stealing your property or bankrupting you.
There are different action cards that can either help or hurt you, depending on whose hands they are in. It involves a little stragety and a little luck.
We played a 4 person game and it normally takes maybe 15 minutes but there was one game where we hadn't played very long and Andy won really fast.
What I like about this game is of course every game is different depending on what hand you get and what you end up drawing.
I would love to talk more about it but trust me when I say if you are a fan of card games you will definitely like this game!

3 months!
On friday the 20th, Wilson turned officially 3 months old!
I can't believe he's already 1/4 of a year old! He already looks so much bigger and longer and well cuter of course!
As far as official measurements go we won't know for a while since his next appointment isn't until September for his 4 month check up. I am tempted to call and ask if I could come in and get him weighed and measured anyways though. It would be really quick so I don't know why they would say no.
Well on friday, Wilson had another milestone in which we heard him laugh for the first time! I was getting ready for work and andy was holding him and started giving him kisses on his cheeks.
We could tell he liked it, and I was still getting stuff together when Andy exclaimed "He's laughing! Baby, he's laughing!"
I grabbed the camera and we watched him smile and coo and laugh a little! He still learning it and I'm sure it will be a little longer before its a full on belly laugh but the fact that we could actually hear a chuckle and know that we were doing something that was making him that happy, well it was just amazing.
Another wonderful moment in our lives since Wilson entered it. Andy and I are constantly in awe of our little man and so thankful to have such a healthy perfect little boy.

Sleep!
It seemed that right before I went back to work, Wilson was still waking up in the middle of the night at his old feeding time between 3-4am. He wasn't hungry and not even waking up that upset but somehow or another he would wake himself back up.
We were having him fall asleep in his swing and when he was finally asleep move him to his crib. It always seemed as soon as we moved him in his crib he would wake himself up another hour or two later.
I didnt mind it so much because I would wake up go in his crib and snuggle with him in the twin bed that andy's parents brought over for my mom to sleep in when she visited. I of course loved to snuggle with him but at the same time it was interfering with my sleep. I like to snuggle with him but was paranoid about sleeping with him so close to me. So I slept very lightly and very aware of how I moved myself, which of course equals not really restful sleep. Before going back to work this was no big deal because I could just take a nap with Wilson whenever he took one and catch up on my zzzs.
Our swaddlme blankets had really been a lifesaver but at that point he was too long in them. We could still swaddle him in it but if he woke himself up he could easily kick himself loose. I ended up ordering a bigger swaddleme blanket thats supposed to be for 6-12 months.
So once I got the bigger one I started to swaddle him in it once he started showing signs of sleepiness. This is normally around 8pm we actually try hard to keep him up a little longer so feed him just a litte and then I will change him (which always seems to make him mad lol) let him hang out for a bit either watching his mobile or in his chair and then swaddle him and some nights he goes to sleep right away in it. Literally in like 2 minutes.. or sometimes it can take up to 10-15 minutes.
For almost 2 and a half weeks now he has been successfully sleeping through the night anywhere from 9-10pm and waking up at 7-8 am.
This is sooo wonderful for both Andy and I. Of course this means waking up earlier than I had been used to. Both Andy and I are nightowls thanks to our job shift but I always went to sleep earlier.
I'm learning now to either get some things done after he falls asleep or actually get to have some me time! Or well spouse time, just hanging out, getting to watch a movie or talk about how cute our baby is haha.
But I have found if I stay up too late I don't get enough sleep! So with that said! I am off to bed!

The Crockpot is my new BFF. Sorry Shawna!
So a week down at work. No, I haven't cried. Yes, I miss my baby. But work is work. I like most of my coworkers and my job so it was easy to come back to my job. I would much rather prefer to be a stay at home mom but for right now it's bearable.
Since coming back to work I have had to figure out my meal plan. Since we work all day the time we are most hungry is while we are at work. By the time we get home from work cooking a dinner is the last thing on both of our minds. Although lets be honest, Andy doesn't cook. Sandwiches yes, things that involve the use of the stove or oven, No.
Well thanks to my handy dandy crockpot I have solved the meal dilemma! I'm by means no gourmet cook but I know my way around the kitchen. So I prepared 3 different crockpot meals that I would throw in the morning and have ready by the time we get off work.
First up the week was some Heavenly Chicken with Rice. This was reallly creamy and delicious and very much a chicken and rice type meal. YUM! Recipe found here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Jennies-Heavenly-Slow-Cooker-Chicken/Detail.aspx
I made this on Sunday evening so we would have some for Monday. Man it really was great!!
Next up I made your standard traditional pot roast. Once again a super easy to make meal that I threw in the crockpot and when it was ready to eat! MMMMM the meat and veggies sooo tender! Recipe here:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Maries-Easy-Slow-Cooker-Pot-Roast/Detail.aspx
The last one I made was basically a version of Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie. This I took 2 different recipes and used different parts to make it.
First I slow cooked about 4-5 chicken breast and 1 can of cream of mushroom. I cooked this until it was nice and cooked and I then shredded the chicken.
Next I took a can of cream of chicken, and 1 package 16 0z of frozen vegetables and mixed them up together with the chicken. I then cooked this on high for about an hour and then turned it down to low.
Then I took a can of refridgerated biscuits and put on top of the mix and cooked on low until the biscuits are basically cooked.
Since they aren't cooked in the oven they don't get that golden look and for some people that's creepy so its optional to put the biscuits in the oven instead. But I wasn't about to dirty a cookie sheet for that.
I really liked this one a lot too! They were all flavorful and it was so easy getting the stuff ready.
No having to worry about what to eat for lunch and eating more homemade food rather than fast food! Plus leftovers!
I plan on changing it up every other week and am currently looking at different recipes to try out.
On another note, I cooked Andy some fried chicken and let's just say, I win that category hands down.
It feels really good to cook things for Andy and know that he not only appreciates them but also enjoys eating them! Hopefully my kids will think the same thing too when they get older.

First day back to work.
So my 12 weeks of maternity leave were up on Friday which was my first day back to work. I can't believe it already has flown by so fast! My baby is 2 and a half months old and growing like a weed and now I have to leave him to make money to afford having him!
Andy and I used to work the same exact schedule so we would commute together and when we only had 1 car it was basically a necessity. Now that I have my car and he has his we could be a little more flexible on when we could work.
Well I talked to my boss and he was willing to work with me somewhat about changing my schedule around. I have a really awesome boss. He's a great, nice, caring guy!
So Friday it wasn't as nerve wracking or as upsetting as I thought I would be. I think it's because I KNEW that there isn't any option. I HAVE to work, that and Andy's parents are going to be watching him so I'm a little at ease because we know, love, and trust them.
I'm more worried for when Wilson acts up because he can really let loose if he isn't happy about something. He is sooo paticular for a 2 month old! Everyone else who has babies are always telling me how easy their babies are and how they hardly ever cry, and I think to myself "Really?! Your baby never cries huh??" I must admit I'm 2 things: Jealous, and not believing it's true.
With Wilson being my first and never being around other babies, I just don't have the experience to say whether or not these parents are really telling the truth or not.
Anyways off topic, sounds like something else I need to blog about. The paint everything roses parents. Who doesn't get annoyed by them? :)
So I go to work earlier now than Andy so he drops him off and I pick him up. I'm so glad I didn't have to drop him off. I know I would've lingered to make sure everything was okay and it would've made me more upset.
Picking him up was so sweet though. I was sooo ready to see him and cuddle with him!
Much to my chagrin though as soon as I got him he was crabby and irritated. I think it had to do with a new schedule. Everything being just a little different for him and he didn't know how to process it.
Hopefully next week we can establish a better schedule for him and he can get more used to it.
I will be waiting for the day I can be a stay at home mom again. I hope it comes soon because I love it. There is nothing more precious than spending that time with your child and watching them grow and learn.

Thank you Craigslist!
Sooo I just blogged about which jumper I wanted to buy and I already found one to buy on craigslist. I snagged the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo.

After reading a lot of reviews this one seems like the best fit for us. I read that it folds up somewhat compact so that will be nice since we live in an apartment. Although it may be stored at grandma and grandpas house for a while until we are ready to make use of it.
I bought it off of craigslist for 35 bucks! Whoo hoo! Saved myself 50 dollars on it! And if baby Wilson likes it hopefully our future babies will like it as well!
Andy and I are going on saturday to pick it up! Also on Saturday is Ribfest which Andy's cousin is playing at. Hopefully it isn't too hot outside as we are planning on taking Wilson with us. I should probably check the weather about that so that he is dressed appropriately.
On a sad note I think I may have to go back to work tomorrow instead of friday! EEP! I'm waiting for a call from my boss to find out what hours they are going to have me work. I'll blog about that more perhaps tomorrow or Friday depending on when I go into work.

Next baby investment.
With Wilson becoming more active and wanting to explore more, I'm looking into buying a Jumperoo for him. I really think he will like it and once he figures out how to bounce in it will really like hanging out in it giving mommy a little break to be able to do other chores around the house.
So far right now I have 3 that I'm going back and forth between.
The Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo which looks like this:
I like the head and back support on this one and the price is 83.43 right now. I've been reading the reviews and most people seem to really like this one.
Then there is this one that is slightly cheaper at 77.57 dollars

It is also a fisher price jumperoo and its more rounded which from the reviews makes it more stable I guess. It doesn't have as much as a head/neck support but it does look fun and colorful.
Then this is the other one I like the baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper

This one is 84.99 and it has the head/neck support and looks really fun too. It doesn't really have anything hanging over head though and I wonder if Wilson will even care about the side bars if he can't reach them.
I would buy one used but searching on craigslist right now most of these aren't for sale as they are newer models, which I would totally get as they are normally half the price. I still have 2 or less months before Wilson will really get full enjoyment out of it so I'm not too worried about it. Hopefully I can find one used or I will end up buying off amazon. I just have to decide which one I want!!
Does anyone have any experience with one? or opinions?

Thankful
I just wanted to blog about how wonderful Andy's parents have been. I feel so lucky to be able to call and ask if they can watch Wilson for a few hours so Andy and I can have a date night every now and then. It's funny though sometimes I feel like I am imposing them with Wilson though! I know that they don't feel that way at all, but I still feel guilty.
I go back to work this friday and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Until Andy actually leaves for the air force I HAVE to work especially with the new car as that is an added expense but one worth paying for.
We weren't really sure childcare wise what we were going to do. Daycare wasn't out of the question but definitely the last resort. We of course were hoping that we wouldn't even have to worry about it before my maternity leave was up but as it turns out we did actually have to worry about it.
Well Andy's parents have offered to watch Wilson when I go back to work and that is really exciting and a weight off our shoulders.
Who better to watch him than his own family? I don't know how long it will be but I know that they will love getting to spend time with him and he will love them!
Friday I am dreading for sure. I know everyone will be wanting to talk to me and asking me how I feel coming back to work.
Well let me tell you! I will be thinking about my baby boy all day! Hopefully I don't cry or get over emotional about it. I just can't believe I'm going to be away from my baby for so long. I mean I've done a couple hours I think at the most 4 or maybe 5 but even then I was ready to get back to my baby!
At least I have some peace of mind knowing that he will be watched by his grandparents who love him like ridiculously much! It's so sweet.

Something to treasure.
So thanks to my blog stalking and my love for etsy, I happened to come across a local lady who makes personal stamped/beaded jewelry.
I looked through all her shop and just fell in love with pretty much everything!
I've just began my journey as a mother and who knows at the end how many children I will end up with, but I really wanted to get a necklace to treasure forever.
I think of it as a modern mother's ring. Which speaking of mother's rings. My grandma had probably THE coolest mothers ring. Well she should've since she had TEN kids! Thats right! TEN children.
So of course her mothers ring was bling-ed out with 10 different birthstones. After my grandma passed, I think my oldest aunt got that mother's ring. I haven't seen it in a VERY long time though but I think about how I loved to look at it as a child and how I would ask my grandma to tell me everyone's birthstone and she and I would sit there and she would point them all out.
While not a ring, these necklaces that Amy Cornwell makes has that simple, sweet charm that I like. I picked out this necklace and got it personalized to have the initials A and W on there. One for Andy and one for Wilson.
If I have future children I can buy another charm and add their initials into the necklace. I can't wait to get it and wear it!!
I also added another charm to add to the necklace a sweet little silver puffy heart. I almost wanted to just wear it like how it is shown in the sample picture. But to be frugal if I really want to do that I can just take the other charms off.
I think it's pretty cool how depending on my mood I can change my necklace around! If I'm mad at Andy I can just take his charm off! Ha ha.
Some of the necklaces on her site are a bit more expensive but the one I bought is 25 dollars and with the added charm came to 28.00.
I don't think that's too expensive for a necklace especially one this sentimental. I just hope it will last me a long time. Maybe to when I'm a grandmother and I have a grandchild wanting to know all about my necklace. That really will be something to treasure.

So for a while now Andy and I have been getting by with just one car. I sold my old Ford Contour to my dad and Andy and I carpooled to work. Not really a big deal but I missed being able to run errands whenever I wanted. Mostly it wasn't a big deal because before Wilson that was really easy. I could go anytime day or night!
With Wilson and being on maternity leave and not having a car has made it well a little harder. Every where we have gone has kind of been a team effort of getting everything loaded in a 2 door car. UGH! Lemme tell you those car seats are not fun to constantly take out and in and even worse with a small 2 door car!
With me getting ready to come back to work in less than 2 weeks, we really had to decide about getting another car for me. With Wilson in the picture everything is going to have to be different! We have to figure out schedules and who can watch him when and with all that another car was going to be a must.
I had been badgering Andy for a LONG while now about either getting another car or trading his in for something more bigger or at least with 4 doors.
So after looking around a little bit Andy got a hold of a salesman named Dale from Stoops who he bought his first car from on Saturday
It was almost serendipitous how Andy called and talked to him and Dale just happened to get the car we bought sometime that past week.
It is a 2007 ford focus hatchback with less than 8400 miles on it! Thats right a car that's been out for maybe 3-4 years and has less than 10,000 miles on it! Practically brand new!
Well the back story with it is that it belonged to a Grandma who passed on and money was still owed on it so the family member who inherited it didn't want it.
I can't believe we found a car with pretty much everything we wanted! We wanted a 4 door car that was good on gas and low miles and for the price we got we feel very lucky!
The only thing missing was the car did not have cruise control but guess what? We got the cruise control installed the car and basically negotiated to get it for free! It wouldn't have been that expensive to get it installed but the fact that we were able to get it included was just icing on the cake!
I haven't gotten to drive it around that much yet but I can't wait to blog more about it. Hopefully good things! :P

Five question Friday
1. What were your school colors?
Well I went to 2 high schools and my first one was Blue and Silver and the high school I ended up graduating at was Green and White. I would've preferred my first high school colors but green and white aren't too bad. I'm not a big green fan though.

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?
Probably now that I'm a great Mom. But the best is the one my husband tells me which is that I'm the funniest person he's ever known. Apparently he just really likes my humor. ;-)

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?
I buy in the middle I dont try to buy the expensive kind but I know better than to go cheap! Charmin's a good one.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?
No! But I wouldn't mind one. Or even throwing one. I'll have to plan that for Andy sometime lol.

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without?"
It would have to be the internet! I cannot live without it!
16 July 2010
Never thought this day would come.
But I officially feel like an old person. Okay not the aches and pains, or bad vision (which I already have) but in the fact that Andy and I finally updated our cell phone plan and bought new phones.
So it's not the actual latest and greatest apparently a new model which my brother picked up yesterday, but it's the Motorola Droid.

I went into the verizon store with my brother on Wednesday to update our plan and to look into new phones.
Andy had a really outdated phone and I had a Blackberry Curve. I wasn't interested in spending a ton of money on new phones for us but I didn't want us to keep our old phones because well they were old!
So being the cheapskate I am I asked them which phones were the buy one get one free deals.
They had all the blackberries bogo and then she told me they had the droid bogo. I immediately was like lets check it out.
Two of my coworkers both got droids and one of them let me play around with it and I was immediately impressed with it.
So I called Andy and asked him. I kind of assumed that he wouldn't want something so new since he's been used to his flip phone for years now. But he suprised me by giving me the go ahead.
so I got 2 new droids with covers and screen protecters and car charger for 350.00. Okay so that's how much I paid in store but I get 2 100.00 rebates in the mail (which I've already mailed out)
So in the end I really spent 150.00 for 2 brand new phones which means I spent 75.00 on a phone that really costs around 150.00
With getting this new phone though I am overwhelmed with all the new technology! So many things I don't know how to do! I don't really like touch screen and have a hard time texting on it but there is also a keyboard too.
So far I love all the different applications on it. I just downloaded the Kindle app and bought free books and have been reading a little.
Apparently the google maps app on the droid is really great too! I can't wait to test it out.
Still though there is so much for me to learn with this phone. Phew! And on top of that Wilson does occasionally want attention haha.
