So I have been stressing out about flying by myself with Wilson and tomorrow is the big day! I don't know why I'm so scared this time but I think it's a mix of things.
1. I am almost 7 months pregnant. My energy is definitely not what it was pre-pregnancy or even early on in my pregnancy. The thought of this trip is exhausting me!
2. Wilson is a 15 month old "toddler"! (he's not really a toddler right?!?!) He now very much will voice his displeasure and throw tantrums. Lucky for me 90% of the time these little meltdowns have been at home.
3. I'm scared something is going to happen! I'm either going to lose my luggage, miss a flight connection, or engine trouble...
Normally I am a low stress person. I don't freak out badly and once I'm actually at the airport I'm hoping I won't be so anxious. I just want everything to go easily and when in life is ANYTHING ever easy? Haha.
Back in February I flew with Wilson by myself, and it wasn't bad. He was still a "baby", I wasn't pregnant, and it was a nice one-way flight with no stops or connecting flights.
I can't wait for tomorrow to be over and really hope hope hope that Wilson won't be too cranky because I seriously doubt he is going to nap at all while we are flying.
So today is some last minute cleaning the house, doing laundry, packing, and keeping my 15 month old entertained.
I can't wait to see all my family and Jake & Lacey's wedding! I can't wait for everyone to see how big Wilson is!
I can't wait to spend some good quality time with my best friend and her kids! I can't wait to get some Pizza King, Puertas, Amazing Joe's, and Ivanhoes!
I do wish I could've gotten a rental car. It would've made all these things that I want to do a lot easier though! But hopefully someone will take pity on my big ol' pregnant self and feed me!

Are you a real friend?
Wilson is drinking his milk and eating some cereal and I woke up feeling like I wanted to blog about this.
What is a real friend?
Why do we have people come and go in our lives?
I know that thanks to technology today (this blog included) that distance doesn't have to end friendships. You can still keep in touch as much as ever, minus the actual physical interaction.
But really what makes a real friend?
I thought I had some real friends, but it turns out to not be the case.
Am I the only one who feels like, when you invest in a friendship, you aren't just investing in a friendship, you are offering up a part of yourself.
You are exposing yourself, your quirks, your personality, and yes, your flaws and mistakes.
You are holding out this box of you and almost kind of asking "Here I am. I'm not perfect."
The best of friends, they take that box, they look past the mistakes and flaws. But the fake friends?
What do they do?
Is this why we as people normally have our "friendly face" on when we first meet people? We aren't quite ready to expose all of ourselves.
I'd blogged before about making new friends and how it's almost like trying on clothes. You try to find the friends who fit you. Who you can expose the "box" to. Not just "Oh my life is awesome, and I totally just want to have everyone think everything is awesome."
I mean don't get me wrong. We all do that. No one wants to just always be negative, but at the same time, the real friends. They know.
You cry on their shoulder, you vent, you curse, and they listen.
I'm all for having friends you hang out with and have a good time, but I want more than just that.

26 weeks!
How far along? 26 weeks which is 6.5 months along.
Weight gain/loss: 127.4 I just ate and went and weighed myself to make myself weigh more. So from the first post at 115.5 that means about 12 pounds! Go me!
Maternity clothes? Finally wearing maternity shorts but only because I was getting so annoyed with the shorts I have been wearing. They are 100% cotton and have no stretch to them so after a couple hours they are all saggy and loose and I CANNOT stand it! So I bought me two pairs of maternity shorts. One of them are super short shorts though...
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep? Bleh... Sleep and I are missing each other. Or I'm missing sleep. I miss sleeping on my belly, rolling over with out squishing my baby, not having to wake up and pee.
Best moment this week? Getting Callie's hospital hat, and announcing her name to family and friends (although I don't think I did a post about it in my blog)
Food cravings: I want to eat everything! Of course! Love love love fresh fruit though.
Gender: still a baby girl! Callie Joy!
Belly button in or out? In, but yep definitely starting to disappear!
Movement? Lots of movement. She is awake in the morning and again right before I go to bed. That's when she does her karate!
What I miss? Sleeping on the belly easily.
What I'm looking forward to: Getting ready to go back to Indiana with Wilson for a little under 2 weeks. I can't wait to see my family and friends and I know I'll be sad when I leave! Not because I'll be sad I'm leaving Indiana, but sad that I'll be missing my wonderful family and friends! *sniff*

Tak Toritang Recipe- a taste of my childhood
Last night I had the pleasure of cooking some Tak Toritang or as I grew up calling it "Korean Chicken."
Essentially it is almost like a stew, super easy to make, just serve with some rice and you have a nice hearty meal!
Here's the ingredient list that I used:
2 packages of fresh Chicken Drummettes (roughly 3 pounds)
4 potatoes cut up
4 carrots cut up
1 large onion
4 cloves of garlic crushed- I cheated and used already minced garlic which was about 4 tsp. of it
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. water
2. Tbsp. of Sugar
4 Tbsp. of Red Pepper Paste
Here is a picture of everything all chopped minus the water.
Next up: Cooking directions.
This is super easy. Seriously. You mix everything together in your pot over a medium high heat! I did my sugar, water, soy sauce first, then added the chicken, potatoes, carrots and onions, then threw the garlic and red pepper paste in last. Mix it all up well!
Bring your pot to a boil and stir every now and then and reduce the heat and cover for about 45 minutes . I'm impatient and had to get it cooked faster so I didn't really reduce the heat that much and had it cooked in about 35 minutes.
Your end result should look like this:
It has such good flavor thanks to the garlic and soy sauce and not too spicy at all if you stick with the 4 tbsp. of red pepper paste. I actually would've liked it a little more spicy so next time I'll try adding another tablespoon and see if that kicks it up a notch.
Eating this last night definitely took me back to my childhood! The only thing missing was some Ban Chan, which typically for my mom meant Kimchi, Gkakdugi, and Kongnamul.
But even with out the Ban Chan, I still was super happy with it. It was delicious and so easy to make, I can't wait to make more!

Almost 15 months old
My almost 15 month old son. You are getting bigger everyday! More teeth coming in as well! And oh boy that personality of yours is really starting to show.
You now furiously protest if we take things away from you. I can't believe you KNOW how to throw tantrums already. You officially hate getting your diaper changed and will get up and run away from me.
I love and hate that you KNOW when Mommy and Daddy tell you "NO" and you look at us and do it anyways. You still aren't saying words but boy, do you babble A LOT!
You really like music and will bounce up and down, you especially like hip-hop/rap music. You are still the messiest eater and you think throwing your spoon is more fun than trying to learn to eat with it.
Another funny quirk is if you think something is too hot/cold you will put it in your mouth, make a face, and then drop it on the floor. I have a hard time getting you to eat your snacks though. You will take your little piece of food and then just drop it and run off, leaving me to go and pick it up after you.
You are so sweet though. You still love to give hugs and cuddle with mommy sometimes. You love your blanket and when you get sleepy you will go to it and just snuggle with it and walk around with it.
And oh boy... if you are overtired you get SUPER cranky! Just like your mommy!
You are still taking 2 naps a day and you go to bed at 8pm and normally wake up between 6-7 am.
You LOVE to swim in the pool and mommy and daddy should take you to the beach again since the last time you hated the sand.
I think I could blog all day about all the little things you do but I just heard you wake up from your nap so I guess I'll go get you instead!!

Organizing gets me happy.
My cloth diapering is still working out well especially now that I have a great stash! Before I got my bumgenius 4.0 one size pockets, I was using just my 2 flip covers and my 2 blueberry covers and going through at least 6 inserts a day and I didn't have that many inserts.
I had let a friend borrow my cloth diapers and she had some still at her house that she had forgotten. Since I had about 8 inserts per day I had to make sure and wash all of them so that I'd have them ready for the next day.
Then I got my 6 Bumgeniuses in the mail and an extra set of inserts from cottonbabies.com.
I actually got 3 in girl colors for baby girl for when she comes, and then 3 in other colors that Wilson can actually wear.
Then I was able to buy from another Air force wife 6 Bumgenius 3.0's one size pocket diapers with the insert and 3 really cute diaper covers with inserts for 45.00!!! She also gave me all the detergent she used and a wet bag. This is an amazing deal even for used cloth diapers!
So with all that said, I had cloth diapers strewn about everywhere, inserts everywhere, and a baby monster who WON'T sit still for diaper changes!
On Sunday I bought some organizing tools to help with the whole cloth diapering and I'm so happy with it!
My cloth diapering system is now a bit easier since I now have a good supply and don't have to worry about if I'm going to run out of inserts.
The bumgeniuses are a lot more bulky than the covers which make's Wilson's little padded butt oh so cute!
I may still invest in a diaper sprayer when the time comes but my rubber gloves and sink are working out well so far.
So here is what my "organizing" looks like: A double drawer bin and a laundry drying rack! But oh how it has helped!
Here is the top drawer with my pockets with inserts already stuffed in em so they are ready to go!
Here is the bottom drawer with all my inserts!
Here are my clean diaper covers and wipes for a quick grab if I decide to use them instead of the pockets already stuffed.
Here's the laundry room drying rack for my covers and my new best friends: The Sink and Rubber Gloves! Hi friends! I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon!

Cloth diapering!
So to save money I had decided to cloth diaper. I've been doing it for about 4 days now and it has been interesting!
Changing a 14 month old is hard enough in itself. As soon as I get the diaper off someone is up and running naked around the living room. Being 6 months pregnant makes it not easy to just get up and chase after him, but we have been making it work.
I'm learning the ropes, we've had some oopsies with leaks but I think that's more just a case by case thing. Some times Wilson's not a heavy wetter and sometimes he is.
The poop has been interesting though.. almost everyone I've talked to has told me "Oh, just roll the poop into the toilet."
Which would be the easiest thing in the world! Except... half the time my son's poopies are not always nice and solid perfect turds that can be easily rolled into the toilet. Most of the time mine are smashed into the insert and or smushy enough that it won't just ROLL into the toilet. I don't have a diaper sprayer but I do have a laundry sink.
Thank goodness for the laundry sink and my rubber gloves!!!
I will say that even though I am saving myself the money by doing cloth diapering, there is more work involved. I miss the convenience of wiping and throwing away the 'sposie, especially when the poop is in there.
I know I need more practice and getting a good establishment down with them though, but all in all, they are a lot cuter than disposables even though the disposables have those patterns on them, I just love the bright colors or even more pastel colors, I hope I have enough money to one day buy a patterned diaper or two!

24 weeks
How far along? 24 weeks! 6 months. Over halfway done with this pregnancy already!?!
Weight gain/loss: 124.4 Whoo hoo! Some real weight gain! I certainly have gotten bigger that's for sure!
Maternity clothes? Don't hate me but I can still wear my regular shorts. Too hot to wear anything else other than shorts and tanks/tshirts. I have maternity shirts but they are still too loose on me, so I wear my regular shirts/tanks. I am loving my old navy tanks right now like in this picture! It's kinda stretchy and super comfortable!
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep? Oh how I miss sleeping on my belly! Sleep is just not enjoyable like it used to be that's for sure. But sleep after having a baby is pretty much just the same. Not as enjoyable when you have a baby monitor with a baby sleeping that can wake up any moment!
Best moment this week? Bought a really adorable dress for 10.00 that I can't wait to wear. Although I don't know what to....
Food cravings: I want to eat everything! Of course! Love love love fresh fruit though.
Belly button in or out? In, but yep definitely starting to disappear!
Movement? Lots of kicks, nudges, pokes. She is a hyper one in there! On sunday night I had the biggest kick I've ever felt. It literally scared the pee outta me!
What I miss? Sleeping on the belly easily.
What I'm looking forward to: Figuring out the most cost effective way to get a crib/double stroller, and maybe a couple other thing.s

rantings of a pregnant woman.
First off, if you are a mom of a daughter who loves these things then this is NOT your post. With that said, this is MY blog and totally just MY opinion. So read on, but you were warned!
I am having a girl! I love girly things and yet, looking at things being sold online, I have come to realize I'm not that girly? Or yes I am girly but to a point? Anyhoo. I've come to realize that I just cannot stand two really trendy/adorable things that little girls are wearing right now: Tutus and headbands.
Here's the thing. I think headbands are adorable! If they are proportionate that is. These huge flowered headbands that are bigger than your babies head? No. I can even tolerate somewhat bigger ones if it doesn't swallow the whole forehead.
Yes:
Look at this adorable baby with an adorable headband. It's a cute simple band and the flower isn't humongous. Credit to Erika Snow Photography
No:
This baby is equally as adorable as the first... and yet.. the headband.. why does the sight of that oversized headband annoy me so much? Credit to Anastasia's Photography
I honestly don't know, some of you guys may even be like "What is she even ranting about?"
All I know is the sight of this enrages me.
Now onto tutus.
Why have tutus become this new thing all of a sudden? I thought tutus were only for ballerinas and yet I see tons and tons of pictures of babies wearing tutus for literally no reason. Except as a photo prop.
The same could be said about headbands really they are just a useless accessory. Now though even just regular clothing have tutus on them.
Tell me why does my daughter need to have a tutu come with a pj set?
Does the tutu keep my baby any warmer? Will she not look as equally cute without it? Is this why I paid over 14 dollars for this pj set? For the tutu skirt that comes with it?
This whole outfit... I have no words....
Photo credit: Pink Bowtique (oh my this whole site is just... too much for my brain)
I will say if you have the money and want to take tons of pictures of your baby in these outfits, PLEASE by all means do it! Let's keep this economy going.
I will be buying headbands for baby girl. Just not huge ones.
As for tutus. Unless someone actually GIVES me one for completely for FREE. You won't be seeing baby girl in one of those.

30 before 30
I've read a couple blogs with people who have set goals. Some have done ones where there is no "time limit" but I thought this would be fun to kind of hopefully do! As long as I set them up realistically and not too crazy!
1. Become Debt Free! -this one may be the hardest to try to complete in 2 years but if I were able to it would be huge which is why it's my number 1!
2. Learn to sew, knit, crochet something!
3. Breastfeed for 6 months! (I made it 6 weeks, so I think 6 months would be amazing this time around!)
4. Have a monthly dinner party with friends.
5. Take advantage of MyCaa and start taking classes.
6. Have three months’ worth of expenses in our savings account.
7. Pay for a military family’s meal (a family I don’t know and without them knowing who I am) while out at a restaurant.
8. Organize all my photos that are currently on my computer eating up space.
9. Learn to cook on a grill by myself.
10. Get both kids potty trained.
11. Take a photography class.
12. Buy all my produce from a farmers market or local farmer.
13. Bake a pie and cake all from complete scratch. (Not at the same time though)
14. Get to spend at least 2 days/2 nights completely kid free, with my husband.
15. Go to a winery and do some wine tasting. (even if I don't like it)
16. Walk more, at least 4 times a week.
17. Throw a great 30th birthday party for myself.
18. Get a pet! (Preferably a dog)
19. Get Andy another car so we have 2 cars instead of 1.
20. Get a pedicure for the first time. (yes I have never gotten a pedicure)
21. Add something unique to my Hello Kitty collection of stuff.
22. Be able to get another cute birth announcement for Baby Bean like I was able to with Wilson.
23. To have driven under 10,000 miles each year on my car.
24. To go grocery shopping by myself with 2 under 2. (this one I'm scared about)
25. To be able to fit all my clothes again after baby #2. (hopefully this one will be super easy to do! EEP!)
26. To be able to cloth diaper both babies, which means I need to build up a stash of Cloth Diapers. (See how number 1. is going to be insanely hard to do?)
27. Attend the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University classes.
28. Be able to budget one going out dinner a month.
29. Get my in laws to come out and visit us for a little while!
30. Be able to visit Indiana at least twice!

Surprisingly not tired!
This morning I babysat my friends 17 month old. Turns out watching a 17 month old and a 14 month old is just watching them run around the whole house eating crackers and picking up their crumbs and making sure they don't push each other into stuff.

Piece of cake! Yesterday I was just exhausted and I only had one baby to watch so how is it that I am watching two and able to do laundry and get a dinner cooked?! Oh right... that's because Wilson has taken 2 very long naps today thanks to his buddy!
