Pool vs. Beach

Well it looks like Wilson is a pool baby! Yesterday we went over to our good friends, Rebecca and Mitchell Stewart's apartment complex and took Wilson for a swim in their pool complex.

Being Biloxi, it was a warm, breezy day. The pool felt wonderful and we all had a great time!
I bought Wilson this floaty but I'm wondering if I should've invested in one with a shade canopy over it. But I will say that this one is very sturdy. I didn't have to worry about it tipping over if Wilson got too excited, and he seemed to really enjoy watching everyone swim, especially the little kids that were playing in the pool too.

He had the most fun though when Daddy took him out of the floaty and let him "swim" around the pool. I've never seen such a happier baby!

So we may in fact become pool people instead of beach people here even though we live less than a mile from the beach!

Andy has a 4 day weekend and we are now on our last day of this 4 day weekend. We plan on just relaxing at home and being lazy. Gotta enjoy days like that!!

The picture explains it all.

I am thoroughly annoyed. It's a combination of things, but today I'm just annoyed with everyone and everything. (Except for Wilson, he's just adorable.)

Luckily, I'm the type of person to get over stuff pretty easily, but it doesn't mean I don't get annoyed. I should've went to bed earlier. I feel super icky this morning. I'm just annoyed with life.

So like the cute little kitty Chi in the picture, I'm just annoyed.

By the way, probably the cutest little anime ever called "Chi's Sweet Home." even the title song is ADORABLE!

I think I may watch some to put myself in a better mood.

Life in Mississippi.

Thought I would do a little blog about life down here in the south so far, while Wilson takes his afternoon nap.

The biggest thing is so far I love the warm weather! Normally I'm not a fan of humidity, but living like a mile from the beach, there is always a breeze going. Since moving out here in mid March the weather has been awesome.

Normally mid 80's and sunny. Some days are super humid which makes it hotter and some days are nice and breezy.

I can only wonder how much hotter it can get but from Weather.com it looks like the hottest month is in July with it's High Average being 89 degrees.

Not too shabby, I'd say!

I forgot how much I love love love warm, sunshine-y weather. Moving from Arizona to Indiana was a big adjustment for me socially and mentally, and weather wise!

While Arizona definitely gets SUPER hot in the summer, those summer nights are just amazing! Well minus all the bugs that come out in the cool night.

There are bugs here though. YUCK! I hate bugs. Apparently right now is a big swarm season, so termites and ants are out and about. I found a few in the house but not enough to really freak out. Just enough to be annoyed.

I should get the house sprayed but I'm worried about the chemicals and how it would affect Wilson since he does crawl everywhere.

Biloxi itself has the beach that we are just a mile away from, and casinos. Apparently this is a gambling town? Who knew right? So on the rare occasion that we have gone out, we have hit up the casino.

Still haven't checked out New Orleans which is about a 2 hour drive but I'm planning on a trip down sometime, once I figure out all the stuff I want to check out down there.

I definitely MISS my family and friends, but I do NOT miss Indiana at all. I've enjoyed exploring Biloxi and the surrounding area, and weather wise, this would be a wonderful place to stay!

I say this now but once Hurricane season starts I might change my tune!

One Year Old!

My dear son,
365 days have gone by. Technically, I'm still in labor with you right now as we speak. I'm beyond tired, in pain, and terribly excited to meet you. All those months of wondering what you were going to be like, who you were going to look like, is soon about to be answered.

My first thoughts of you entering this world will always be of how white you were! You had the cord wrapped around your neck and you were just SOOO white! The funny thing is in our first pictures of you, you actually don't look as white as I see you in my mind. You pinked up immediately, and as they laid you on my chest, I remember telling you hi and welcome to the world. You were crying but once I started talking to you, you calmed down and got quiet, and I started to talk to you more. I introduced myself to you as your mommy and I was so happy to finally meet you.

Then as quickly as you were put on my chest you were taken off to get cleaned up and get your stats checked. You started crying again and daddy followed you and started talking to you and you got quiet again.

It seems so crazy how fast your first year flew by. How you went from so little to so big! How your dark hair started to turn light. How you looked a lot like mommy! How content you were to just be held and rocked. How mad you get when you have to do something you don't like, like tummy time. How you decided you wouldn't start crawling until you had the perfect form. How you furiously protest if we eat anything in front of you and don't share. How you love to climb up the stairs.

Last night was the last night you would be under one. I hugged and kissed you and wished I could go back in time, I have my memories, but it is so true that those moments came and went by too fast.

Now, we are at a new chapter in your life. I can't wait to see where you go from here, my sweet baby boy!

Wilson's important news.

The shirt explains it all! First there came denial, then more denial, and then acceptance. We weren't trying to get pregnant, and even though I wasn't on birth control, we were trying to prevent it. So it was to our huge surprise and shock to find out that Wilson is going to be a big brother!

I'm excited to watch my family grow and excited for another little baby. With Wilson just days away from turning one, I constantly think about how he is no longer my little baby. Sure, sometimes he wants to snuggle and be comforted, but now he wiggles away and crawls off and soon I'm sure running off. So I'm happy that in what seems like a while away, although not really, I will have another little baby to take care of.

My First Mother's Day

Last May, I was impaitently waiting for a little boy to make his arrival. I had hoped and hoped I would go into labor early and not be overdue. But Wilson was not ready to make his entrance into the world yet and so I had to wait to celebrate my first Mother's Day.

Now here I am a year later, and it's sooooo bittersweet! My first Mother's Day means that my son is almost a year old! That my baby is no longer a baby!

To start off my mothers day, Andy woke up with Wilson and went and got me breakfast from IHOP, because he is still a novice cook and I wanted sausage gravy and biscuits. My sleeping in only last an extra hour though, I am too used to waking up around 6am to sleep in that much anymore.

Then he gave me my gift which I previously blogged about how much I wanted. I love love love my new bag! It's roomy and big but not so big. Okay well I have had other big bags but they just don't have all the extra pockets that mommies need! I'm pretty sure when I have 2 babies there will be more than enough room for both their stuff in there!

Then I got to relax and Wilson and Daddy played all day which was nice. Normally when both of us are home, Wilson wants our attention! Funny when it's just me at home, he's more content to get into everything and play by himself. Like right now, while I type this he is sitting in the cabinet pulling out all my bakeware.

Then Andy and I went over to our good friends, The Stewarts, and I cannot believe it but they bought me a Kindle for mothers day!!!

I'm just in awe that I have a Kindle now and that my friends bought it for me! We then ate a delicious dinner and watched Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World which is now Andy's favorite movie. I think he only likes it so much because it had crazy amounts of sound effects, and not just any sound effects but video game sound effects.

So now my first mother's day is over, and Andy puts Wilson to bed. Which I kind of wanted to do. I love those moments right before bed, just snuggling my little man, and rocking him in the dark. I normally do it every other night anyways so I was okay with letting him do it, I mean it was still Mother's day!
