Body after baby #2
Thought I would do one last update. Here I am at 7 weeks after giving birth.
I'm weighing now to 116 to 118 pounds. So still a little off from the 115 I was pre-pregnancy. Still I'm happy with where I am. If I lose any more weight fine. If not. That's fine as well.
Still breastfeeding. (SHOCKINGLY) For some reason my boobs actually work this time. I get crazy tingles when my milk lets down. Something that never happened when I breastfed with Wilson.
Callie does still get some formula. Most of the time it's if she still seems really hungry after I've nursed her. Or in the middle of the night. I'll give her a 2 oz bottle and then let her nurse more.
So far it's working. I worry though if I will continue to produce enough milk for her though.
Anyhoo, back to me. Umm yeah. So I still have a belly but I've never not had a little belly.
Still not exercising, why you ask? Because I get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep and have to wrangle a 20 month old and a 7 week old. Are you friggin crazy? Exercise. Hah!
Just trying to keep us all clean, fed, and alive is enough for me.
Nothing else really changed for me. Oh wait. I feel like my tummy looks flabbier. Which is weird. I guess maybe it got stretched out more? So I guess I do need to excercise. Or at least do some crunches.

Rantings of a sleep deprived housewife today. Enjoy.
Thanks to facebook, everyone posts every little thing on their mind, (me included) and I have noticed that all my mom friends love to share articles, pictures, and links to things that they have an opinion on. Not only that but anything that you follow that may be parenting related also posts tons of stuff about it too.
It's weird how it kind of semi-annoys me.
I personally don't care what you choose to do with your children. Circumcise or don't. Vaccinate or don't vaccinate. Cloth diaper or use Disposables. Breastfeed or Formula feed. Rear face or don't rear face your kid. Tv or no TV. Make your own baby food or buy jarred. It goes on and on and on.
But why does it semi-annoy me? Most of the time, I can read the stuff and just move on. Sometimes, maybe on an especially "parenting" cluttered news feed day, it starts to annoy me?
I guess maybe it's because I read it and get the idea that even though it's not directed to me, it's more for just general awareness, that I am not smart enough to figure it out on my own, or maybe I was too dumb and didn't know the supposed health/saftey benefits.
I do read.
Case in point, I read up a lot on circumcisions and even followed a blog which semi-annoys me with all the crunchy-naturalness going on.
Okay, well the circumcising thing, that was annoying because all the anti-circumcising stuff was making me feel like I was some terrible monster who had tortured my child by choosing to do it. When in reality, it was a very short and fast procedure, which my son WAS numbed for, so that he didn't feel anything.
Lucky I'm not some popular mainstream blogger because I'd probably get a lot of hate comments on my opinion regarding that situation. But guess what I was informed. I wasn't stupidly just like, "Cut him up! I don't know anything about anything. Durp durp."
I toyed with the idea about not circumcising. But I had reasons for choosing it. One being that I have a personal experience of not being circumcised being a bad thing. Long story short, infections all the time and then getting the surgery at a later age because it was recommended and seeing the healing process on older person, is just something I would not want my son to go through. The other was that I also had to weigh in what my spouse wanted.
Perhaps if I hadn't had this personal knowledge of how bad being uncircumcised can be, I might have been more reluctant to choose circumcision.
Clearly, I am just in an annoyed state of mind. It might because I run on about 4 hours of sleep and my nipples feel like they have been sucked off, (Don't even try to tell me we are doing it wrong, because we are doing it right. Guess what it still sucks!) my house is a wreck like 24/7 and the weather outside is crappy and my mood always dips when it's crappy weather outside.
But anyways. Thanks you friends for all your sharing. I'm sure there is some parent who is now breathing a sigh of relief because she/he did not know about the benefits to what you may be ranting about. It's not me though. I'll be back here, trying to keep my eyes from rolling out of my head.

Breast feeding sucks.
So I am now enduring my second bout of a blocked duct. My right breast hurts like crazy. Like someone punched me right in the chest. I have a fever and chills one minute and the next I'm sweating like crazy. I'm running on about 4 hours of sleep but I have two babies to take care of. Any time I bend down I start to feel dizzy and light headed.
Seriously this blows. I have to keep Callie nursing even though all I want to do is sleep. Could I whine more? Yes, I could.
I'm hoping by tomorrow I feel better. My house is completely wrecked since I was a slug on the couch today. Thank god tomorrow is Friday. Andy is going to get up with Callie, so I'll actually get a full nights rest!

Sleep, toddlerhood, and milking a cow.
Life with two under two has rocked my world. I get to juggle having an almost 20 month old and his tantrums and an almost not so newborn baby. Somedays it's easy, and some days I think I may go crazy!
The weather here has been fluctuating like crazy too. One day it's in the 70s and the next in the 40s and raining.
Wilson is such an active little boy and I hate having him cooped in the house but sometimes it's SO much easier not taking him outside to play.
The last time I took him and Callie, we got out the double stroller and took a walk to the mailbox and then I decided to let him out and let him play at the park. He had a grand ol time until I decided it was time to go home.
Silly me for thinking that would go over easy. Instead I was wrestling a toddler who was kicking, screaming, crying, and twisting himself out of my arms. Oh joy.
Then even though I managed to get us home, he was still mad and as soon as I set him down, laid on the ground and continued on his tantrum for another 5 minutes.
I've been trying distraction, but that doesn't seem to work well with his personality. He seems to get more angry if I try to distract him with things he normally likes: book, toy, food sometimes does work though.
Breastfeeding is going. I don't think I'll ever feel like I am getting the hang of it. I constantly worry that she's not getting enough. Every time I make a bottle instead of breastfeed I think "Well there goes my supply." I am enjoying doing what I can though and that's huge compared to my attempts at breastfeeding with Wilson. I'm doing it all how I want to and I'm at peace with whatever she gets for however long she gets it for. A very nice friend has given me an extra pump that she wasn't using and I've been getting extra milk in from that. Not enough to build a stash and freeze but instead of making a bottle of formula, I'll have a bottle of actual breastmilk instead. But seriously, something about the pump just makes you feel like a moo cow.
Anyhoo in all my rumblings I forgot to mention sleep. And that's because I don't remember what sleep is. I thought it was bad when I was largely pregnant and tossing and turning, but nope this is worse.
Thankfully Wilson is super easy to get to bed. Turn on music and nightlight and leave room. Simple as that.
But once I get him to bed, instead of sleep I now get adult time to myself.
Then when I finally am ready for sleep, guess who is awake and ready to eat and or fussy? That would be baby#2.
So then if I'm lucky, I finally fall asleep anywhere from 10pm-2am. Then I get woken up again pretty much 4 hours later to feed and change her. Then I get like maybe 2 hours if I'm lucky before its 7am and Wilson wakes up.
I could have it worse though.

1 month
So having two under two has been very busy for this mommy. Trying to maintain the schedule I had for W while starting a completely unknown one with my newborn has been interesting to say the least.
So far C is a total night owl and is most awake/fussy from 8pm to 1am. Which makes for a very tired mommy and daddy!
We got really lucky with Andy getting to take a lot of time off this past month which helped me out a lot and also made it hard to figure out what our schedule is really going to be like when it's just us at home, like it normally is.
I keep jabbering about schedules but really this is supposed to be about C hitting 1 month!
So here we go:
She is now fitting 3 month clothing easily and the newborn clothing is super snug on her. Especially onesies. I have a hard time getting those off and on her.
We now can finally start cloth diapering although I have a couple packs of diapers so I'll probably use them up first.
She is now in size 1 diapers for disposables. And we have had a couple terrible blowouts with the huggies newborn diapers. Hopefully it's just because she is too big for them.
Another funny thing is C has the most gas I've ever heard of a baby girl having. W at her age didn't have seem to have half the gas she has. And boy do they stink!
I think she is losing her hair some but she still has more than W. I'm pretty sure he started to lose his right about now too.
I don't know about weight/height because we don't go in until she hits 2 months but she did gain/grow from her 2 week appointment so that's great.
All in all life is great! We just had to say goodbye to Andy's parents who drove down and stayed with us for a short but wonderful week.
I'll have to blog more about that. My short short mommy break is over and it's now back on mommy duty!
