1. If you could have been (could be) any profession you wanted (brains and $$$ no problem) what would it be?

Wow, even now I still have different jobs that I think I would've wanted to do.
There are so many jobs that sound like they would be so fun, fulfilling, exciting. I think being an Events Planner would be super awesome. While I am in no way super crafty or creative, I think it would be a super fun and a challenging job!

 2. How often do you clean out your car?

Oh Man, not NEAR ENOUGH. I actually just cleaned out the car this past week. It really needed a good vacuuming. I had to switch Callie's car seat out to her big girl car seat and yeah, when I moved the seat out, I was horrified by how many crumbs were all on the seat. BLECH! So I guess about every 6 months is when our car gets cleaned out. LOL (oops sorry!)

3. Do you wish there was such a thing as fashion police or are you deeply relieved?

I loved watching that show on E Network, the one with Joan Rivers. It might actually be called Fashion Police. While I love judging celebrities who get to dress up pretty much every day. I would NOT want to be judged. But then again, I'm a stay at home mom, to two babies. I mean, I dress for comfort and when the accidents happen, things that can be easily washed. So I guess I'm relieved that there is no personal fashion police for me. But I will still enjoy fashion police for those who actually wear fashion.

  4. What's your go to food/drink/activity when stressed?

EVERYTHING!!! Mostly chocolate though. I LOVE my sweets almost as much as I love my salty. Basically, I'm a foodie. I eat. I enjoy eating. Somehow, despite my size, I eat a lot. When I was younger and faster metabolism, I didn't worry so much about how much I ate. Now that I'm older, I need to watch my portions more. (Too bad I don't!) I'm pretty sure that if I didn't have such a good metabolism I would be one of those 500 pound women you see on the TLC channel.

5. If you had twins, what would you name them?

Oooh fun! But twins girls or boys? Or one of each???
Twin boys: Henry Ivan & Michael Howard
Twin Girls: Ivy Renee & Vivienne Marie
One of each: Henry Ivan & Ivy Renee
Totally random but they all have some family ties with them. And this was on the spot.
Pretty sure we are done with 2 babies, so names haven't really been something I've thought about.

My heart could burst...

Even with all the stresses of traveling and coming back home. Trying to get us all settled back into normal daily routine, tantrums and cry-fests, and bed sleeping issues. Every day, I have little moments with both my children, where there is just so much love for them, that I feel like my heart could just burst from SO much love.

Even right now, I can feel this swelling in my chest, as I watch Callie play. When I call her name and she turns to me and gives me a little gummy smile.

When I sang and rocked Wilson in his room for his nap, and I could feel his sweet baby soft skin against mine. With his hand gripping my shirt, curled up against my body. His eyes getting heavy, and his long lashes fluttering.

I'll never get these moments back. I'll have so many new moments in our lives but these ones, right now, they are so precious. They are still my babies. Still so dependent on us.Still trusting us. We are still their world.

Little do they know, they will ALWAYS be ours.

It truly is amazing just how much my love for them are.

Traveling with 2 pt.2

So to continue on where I left off... Callie was hungry, Wilson was poopy, and we needed to get boarding soon.
STRESS OVERLOAD GO!

Andy ran with Wilson to the family bathroom. Used the ONLY wipe we had on us on a very poopy-poop explosion diaper. (He also may have used water and toilet paper, but he claims he only used the one wipe) I'm standing with all our stuff, with a fussy baby.
Oh, and this is our long 3 hour flight. Both babies had napped for almost 1.5 hours while we were waiting at the airport. So they are jacked. Pumped.
Like we gave them Redbull in their sippy cups. Doomed.

Okay, well actually it wasn't that terrible. Andy made it back before we started boarding. We got on okay. The only terrible thing was we had no water for Callie to make her bottle, and boy, was she MAD. She's not a pacifier baby at ALL. So we literally couldn't get her to suck on anything (I wasn't willing to give her a lollipop like Wilson) to calm her down.
All we could do was wait for the airline attendant to bring us the water. It took forver. :( She probably cried for a good 45 minutes. What is it about baby girls that they can just cry SO loud and high pitched and it's just like "AMG. What do I do?"
Once we got her bottle made and ready, she was a happy baby. But oh my gosh, those 45 minutes were just torture for us. Wilson was distracted by my phone and lollipop, so he was okay.

We had some issues trying to get him to not kick the seat. He didn't really seem to understand though. The more we tried to tell him no. The more he wanted to do it.

 Story. Of. My. Life.

When we landed it was around 10pm. Very late. Babies are normally asleep by now, and have been for a couple hours. Andy and I are exhausted. It's a lot of work trying to keep them entertained, happy, not screaming, and clean.
Oh and we are lugging around a diaper bag, carseat, 30 pound toddler, 20 pound infant, and anything else we could carry. (okay it wasn't all that much.) Anyways. We got to my mom's house by 11pm and put the babes to bed.
And fall into a coma.
Also here are some other pictures I found to share.

This one is SO Precious! Callie passed out in the Ergo, Wilson passed out in his carseat. They both slept for 1.5 hours at the terminal.
Exhausted little boy.
Happy little girl!

Traveling with 2 pt.1

So, I didn't get to take a lot of pictures on our trip. In fact I shared most of what I took already in my previous blog post.

First off, I had been slacking on packing before the trip. I'm pretty sure I packed everything the night before we left. I put the babies to bed and began my packing.

I've previously been bad at overpacking. I don't know why I think I need 5 pairs of shoes, and a change of clothes for everyday, and a couple days extra. So this time I made sure to pack lighter.
Plus, I knew I could do laundry at my mom's house.

I only brought my one pair of sandals, no tennis shoes (that might have been a mistake, but I made it out okay) a couple outfits, for both the hubs and I both, and then packed clothes for the munchkins.

I brought along their blankets for comfort, and they aren't really all that big so we could pack them in Andy's carry on.

Here's a big fail story though. I packed what formula I would need for the trip. Packed the rest in the can in the suitcase. *anyone with functioning brain cells can already tell this is a TERRIBLE idea*

So we get everything packed up and get in the car for our 3 hour drive to Dallas.

On our way there, lo and behold, there is a HUGE pile up of traffic. Why? You ask?

Oh, because people are idiots and even though there were plenty of signs saying "Right lane closed. Merge into left lane." Idiot-Jerk drivers kept driving in the right lane. Seriously. ALL THE WAY UP TO THE ACTUAL MERGE.

So we were at stop and go traffic at that point because of people just being idiots. It took us about a half an hour or more to get out of the little jam.

After more muttering under our breaths (stupid Texas drivers)  we made it into Dallas and got settled in our hotel.

We got two double beds and Daddy and Wilson slept in one bed and Callie and I slept in the other.
Neither of us got good sleep. LOL.

Our checkout was at 11 am, and our flight didn't leave until 4:30 pm. So we had 4 hours to kill until our flight actually took off.

So we did a lot of walking around the terminal. BTW, we LOVED using our Brica Roll n' Go Car Seat Transporter

It was our first time using it, and we hadn't tried to test it out before hand so while we were parked and getting it on there, at first we thought it was hard to put it on but it was more so just us learning how to use the actual contraption.

I will say, I don't think I could've done it by myself though. Unless I had Stinks in a baby harness thing. He loves to run and explore and the minute we set him down on the ground he was gone. This would work great if you have a little one who won't run off on you, though.

So our first flight was a very short one. Just Dallas to Houston. Just barely an hour. That was an easy flight. No problems, happy babies, and people all around are beaming at our angelic children.

We get off and get to our next gate because our connecting flight is pretty close to start boarding. We entertain the munchkins some more.

We realize we have only 1 wipe left in our wipe container. We realize that we need water to make Callie's bottle, that she's ready to eat. We realize that Wilson just had a poop explosion in his diaper.
Oh, and we are getting ready to start boarding....

To be continued..

Recuperating.

While I loved getting to spend time with my family, going on vacation with 2 little ones is exhausting!

I'm still trying to get our house back in shape, baby wrangle, and get them back on schedules.

When I find the time, I will blog more in depth on everything.

For now here are some pictures from our trip!

06 August 2012

Traveling.

So later on today/tonight we will be making the 3 hour drive to Dallas and flying out to visit my mom, brother, and sisters, tomorrow.

EEP!

I have not prepared at all for this. In fact, I'm still not even half way packed yet!

Last minute packer I am. Plus just thinking about all the baby wrangling, running around with luggage, parking, loading, checking in that we will be doing, and I'm just ready to curl up into a little ball.

Oh well.

I am very excited to be using my Brica Roll 'n Go Car Seat Transporter though!!

I won it in a blog giveaway and honestly it is so nice!

I didn't have to put together anything! I literally just took it out the box and checked it all out and yep, it's ready to roll! (no pun intended?)

Wilson and Callie have the same car seat but she is still in her infant. We have decided to take his on for the plane trips.

Here's hoping that he will do better sitting in his car seat on the plane.

Back to packing and baby wrangling!

1. What is a must in a hotel room?
Definitely a bed! I mean that's what it's all about right? Also a bathroom. A TV would be nice as well. And a phone so you can order food!

 2. Which Olympic event would you be best at?
Ummm... none? I'm not very athletic. Maybe curling, only because it seems like a lot of fun!

 3. What's your stance on the Chick-fil-A subject?
Oooh, now here's a touchy subject. I personally did not know that Chick-Fil-a was a "Christian" based business. I had no issue with him making his stance (even though I disagree with it), but as the fallout continued, I realized that this is NOT about free speech. This was about how he uses his money made from this business to give donations to organizations* that actively try to block marriage equality for gays, that think that if you are gay, you should be criminalized. Terrible.

It makes me angry to think that so many people went to Chick-fil-a to stand up for chick-fil-a but don't see how doing so, really was a slap in the face to anyone they may know that is gay. I can't imagine being a gay son or daughter or cousin or friend, and see my friends and family posting about how they went to Chick-fil-a that day. My heart breaks for those who had to see that in this day in age. It wasn't about standing up for Chick-Fil-a, it was showing essentially, that we still have a long way to go for EQUALITY FOR ALL, regardless of sex, race, religion, and orientation.

* Also I wanted to add that while I might not know EVERY business I give my money to, stances on Marriage Equality, if I find out that they do not support it, then no I would not continue to give them my business especially ones that fund Hate groups.

 4. One thing you said you'd never do as a parent, but totally have.
Spank I guess, the terrible twos are really terrible on me, I thought I would have such great patience and wouldn't need to discipline my child in such a way, but there you go. Unfortunately spanking does nothing on a cloth diapered butt. It's more so just trying to get him to stop and listen to me. I guess I win the "Terrible Parent Award."

 5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever found at a yard sale?
A sex swing. Yep, someone was trying to sell one. Creepy.
